| Comments: the Burhanpur rupees in the name of Aurangzeb but dated 1143 (in the reign of Muhammad Shah) are puzzling. They all have the epithet dar al-sarur (not otherwise used for coins dated to Aurangzeb's reign) and are struck rather flatly. Some at least have been found in the Punjab. They may have been a Maratha issue of some kind. They remain very scarce.
